Plastics, styrene, plexiglass, bakelite, polycarbonate sandblasting.
Plastic material is usually sprayed if:
- the workpiece is painted with other impurities that can be removed by grain cleaning.
- the workpiece must be prepared for bonding.
- Not all plastic can be sprayed, a test should be made.
Soft plastic is non-dispersible (polyethylene, teflon silicone). Hard plastics (stirol, plexi, polycarbonate) can be machined with barriers. Though this applies to removing plastic body parts (eg bumper) paint.
For sandblasting and blasting of plastics, see some examples of our previous works, in our section of our pages, in Other Items.
